Youngsters took to the track at Alexander Stadium on Saturday (May 2) as the venue hosted Birmingham’s Junior and Mini run event, part of the wider Great Birmingham Run weekend.
Gates opened at 8am ahead of races beginning at 9am, with children aged three to eight completing a 1.5km mini course and those aged nine to 15 tackling a 2.5km junior route.
The event focused on fun and participation, with many young runners dressed in superhero costumes while building confidence and fitness.
All junior runners received official chip-timed results, while the mini event remained a non-competitive fun run for younger children.
Children aged three to eight ran alongside a parent or guardian, while older junior entrants were able to take part independently.
Thousands of grown ups take to the streets for the main event on Sunday (May 3).
