Meet the couple who have opened Telford’s first Lego café

Brick & Beyond opened in the Quad in Telford on Saturday.

A Shropshire couple’s love for building bricks have led them to open Telford’s first Lego café.

Kayleigh and Mark Parsons opened Brick & Beyond in The Quad in Ironmasters Way on Saturday, from an idea that came from Mark’s passion for the Danish building brick sets.

“It was born mainly out of Mark’s love of Lego,” said Kayleigh. “When he was stressed with our other business he could literally sit for an hour or two and just relax.

“We figured it would be great if family, friends, adult, kids - anybody really, could come have coffee and cake and do the same.”

The café, invites people to book and hour or more where they can help themselves to cake, tea, and refreshments while whiling away the time creating Lego masterpieces.

“It allows people to sit and focus on that one thing and forget anything else, which really helps you recharge your batteries,” said Lego-loving Mark.

He said the café, which also sells sets of Lego, is open on weekends and bank holidays from 10am to 6pm, and between 4.30pm and 8pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

And the pair have plans to move to even larger premises in Oakengates in the coming year.
