Rayan’s glaring miss for Bournemouth topped by Luis Vazquez howler at Birmingham

Birmingham’s Vazquez went viral on Saturday after blazing over an unguarded net from inside the six-yard box.
Bournemouth star Rayan rivalled Birmingham forward Luis Vazquez for an early contender for miss of the season on a day of shocking finishes.
Argentinian Vazquez went viral on Saturday after blazing over an unguarded net from inside the six-yard box in the closing stages of his side’s 2-1 lunchtime win at Derby in the Sky Bet Championship.
The substitute’s wayward effort was dubbed the worst miss in the history of football by some social media users – but Rayan duly gave him some competition during his side’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Brentford at the Vitality Stadium.

After Bees goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher kept out an initial effort from Justin Kluivert, Brazil international Rayan somehow fired high into the Steve Fletcher Stand with the goal gaping.
The 20-year-old opened his account for the season in Bournemouth’s 4-0 midweek Carabao Cup success over Lincoln but remains without a league goal since featuring at this summer’s World Cup following a frustrating afternoon.
While Rayan’s chance was undeniably a sitter, Vazquez’s howler was in a league of its own.
