The equaliser came in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Ciaron Brown turned in a Gatlin O’Donkor cross deep into stoppage time to earn relegated Oxford United a 2-2 draw against newly-promoted MK Dons at the Kassam Stadium.

Mark Harris fired Oxford in front in the 20th minute only for Charlie Goode to head Dons level nine minutes later.

Aaron Collins then nodded in Ryan Wintle’s cross on 34 minutes to put Dons in front and turn the match around.

When Harris shot the U’s ahead, it followed a spell of sloppy defending. Sirike Dembele saw a shot blocked and as Oxford’s players appealed for a handball, Dons failed to clear and Harris lashed the ball in from 12 yards.

Yet the visitors levelled when Goode rose at the far post to head Daniel Barlaser’s cross over keeper Jamie Cumming and in.

And Dons quickly struck again – Wintle crossing for Collins to power home a header.

In the second half, Collins headed against a post but the U’s refused to give up – and got their reward in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
