Wolves player ratings: Midfielders impress in Watford win

We rate the players after Wolves win at Molineux.

JOSE SA

Had only one save to make from a long range Edo Kayembe and didn’t make it too convincingly. Distribution was disappointing.

Nervy 6

KIERAN TRIPPIER

A neat volleyed cross which helped make the goal. Will have tougher matches defensively but took care of business well.

Calm 7

YERSON MOSQUERA

Made his first start since the opening night. Steady enough defensively but some of his passing, under little pressure, was poor.

Wayward 6

LADISLAV KREJCI

Had Wolves’ only effort on target (from one of their own players) in the second half. Some good passing, some bad. Never under huge pressure.

Moments 6

HUGE BUENO

Solid in defence, albeit against a rather toothless Watford attack. Didn’t really make much of an impact in attack.

Sufficient 6

ANDRE

Had a huge hand in the goal with a pinpoint crossfield pass on to the run of Trippier. Got through plenty of work and showed some nice touches.

Pinpoint 7

MARSHALL MUNETSI

Should have opened the scoring but somehow put wide from just six yards out. You can’t fault his workrate but more quality needed.

Busy 6

JEAN-RICNER BELLEGARDE

A lively presence on the right. Always ready to take his man on and delivered some dangerous crosses into the box.

Threat 7

JORDAN JAMES

Curled just over in the opening minutes. Always looked the most likely player to create something. Used the ball well.

Quality 7

RAFIKI SAID

Would have had an assist had Munetsi been able to get his effort on target. Brought a save from Ravaglia with a header.

Energy 6

ADAM ARMSTRONG

The goal should help his confidence. Saw an early effort blocked. Plenty of work but he struggled to get into the game in the second half.

Goal 6

SUBSTITUTES

Mateus Mane 6 (for Said, 61), Tommy Doyle 6 (for James, 78), Tawanda Chirewa 6 (for Armstrong, 78), Sean Neave (for Bellegarde, 90+1), Toti Gomes (for Bueno, 90+1) Subs not used: Tchatchoua, Lopez, Rawlings, Virginia (gk).
