Matheus Cunha scored the only goal as Wolves beat the Cherries 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League last weekend and will be eying progression to the FA Cup quarter-finals this time around.

They've reached the fifth round of the competition for the second season on the spin and we've taken a look back at their last six fifth round ties.

2023-24: Wolves 1-0 Brighton

Wolves took the lead inside the opening 180 seconds after Mario Lemina met Jean-Ricner Bellegarde's lofted cross with a sliding finish into the bottom corner.

It proved enough to send the gold and black into the last eight for the first time since reaching the semi-finals five years earlier in 2019.

They lost 3-2 in the quarter-finals at home to Coventry City after a dramatic late comeback from the Championship outfit.

2020-21: Wolves 0-2 Southampton

Nuno Espirito Santo was looking to guide Wolves into the quarter-finals for the second time in three seasons when Southampton visited Molineux in the fifth round.

The Portuguese boss made six changes and paid the price as Saints knocked them out of the competition.

Danny Ings opened the scoring when he hooked the ball past John Ruddy on the rebound after his initial effort was saved.

The offside flag was immediately raised but a VAR review confirmed that Max Kilman had kept the Southampton striker onside.

Stuart Armstrong rubber-stamped the win in stoppage time when he capitalised on Ruddy's slip to latch on to Nathan Tella's low feed to double Saints' lead.

2018-19: Bristol City 0-1 Wolves

Ivan Cavaleiro scored the only goal against Championship side Bristol City at Ashton Gate to guide Wolves into the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 2003.

Matt Doherty raced down the right to deliver a low cross to the penalty spot and the Portuguese wide man drove a low finish past Frank Fielding to decide the tie just before the half-hour mark.

Wolves would go on to book their place in the semi-finals for the first time in 21 years, with goals from Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota inspiring them to a 2-1 win over Manchester United at Molineux.

They lost 3-2 after extra-time against Watford at Wembley and missed out on a place in the final for the first time since they last lifted the trophy in 1960.

2016-17: Wolves 0-2 Chelsea

Wolves had stunned Liverpool to win 2-1 at Anfield in the previous round but failed to overcome eventual Premier League champions Chelsea at Molineux.

Eden Hazard teed up former FC Barcelona winger Pedro to break the deadlock midway into the second half before Diego Costa put the seal on the win with a late second.

Chelsea went on to reach the final, losing 2-1 against Arsenal at Wembley.

2007-08: Cardiff City 2-0 Wolves

Wolves made the worst possible start against Championship rivals Cardiff City when the late Peter Whittingham latched on to a flick-on from Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink to score inside 90 seconds.

Cardiff doubled their lead 11 minutes later as Whittingham turned provider for Hasselbaink to fire an unerring finish into the top left-hand corner.

The Bluebirds beat Middlesbrough and Barnsley respectively to reach their first FA Cup final since winning the competition in 1927 but were beaten 1-0 by Portsmouth at Wembley.

2002-03: Wolves 3-1 Rochdale

Wolves avoided a cup upset with a 3-1 victory over Third Division outfit Rochdale at Molineux.

George Ndah continued his record of scoring in every round by breaking the deadlock just past the half-hour mark.

Rochdale got back on level terms after the break when Paul Simpson's shot took a wicked deflection to beat Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray.

Lee Miller restored Wolves' lead shortly after before Adam Proudlock climbed off the bench to secure their passage into the last eight.
