Hugo Bueno admits Wolves conceding late at Spurs was 'painful' but the Spaniard is adamant the team will retain believe in their quality.

Wolves looked set for a first Premier League win of the season, until Joao Palhinha struck in the 94th minute to deny Wolves all three points.

Bueno revealed the players were hurting from the late heartbreak, but they will take confidence from the team's strong performance in the capital.

"It was really painful, I'm not going to lie, but I try to keep with the positives of this game," Bueno said.

"The team really showed a really good character, we controlled the game and played really well.

"We have to keep going like this, that's the only way to keep getting points and get out of the relegation zone.

"We know we have the quality to be higher up in the table, we are believing more in ourselves, our work and our quality.

"We showed that today so I hope the team keeps growing every week and doing performances like this.

"We came here with the idea of the three points.

"It's a bit painful that we didn't get it, but we just have to look forward to the next games and points.

"Now this game is gone, we showed really good character, but at the end of the day it's a massive stadium to play in and Tottenham have a really good team.

"We played face to face with them and I'm really proud of the team and hopefully we can win the next one."

Wolves showed belief in their ability by creating chances for a second goal and not sitting back on their slim lead.

Bueno insists that is the way forward for Wolves and they must be expansive at the right times.

"When we score a goal we have to keep going, that's the most important thing, we don't have to go (back) to our box," he added.

"The team did that really well, kept in the game and controlled it.

"It was a pity at the end but we have to keep going like this."

Wolves have now had back-to-back better performances as they seek their first top flight victory of the campaign.

They remain bottom of the Premier League, however, and Bueno says the players are keen to prove the doubters wrong.

"When the results don't come the doubts start appearing," he said.

"But as a team we have no doubt of the quality in our players and at the end of the day that's what matters.

"We have a lot of confidence in ourselves and we showed that and on Tuesday in the cup.

"Hopefully we keep showing it like this."
