Wigan 2 Shrewsbury Town 2: Ollie Westbury's player ratings

Shrewsbury Town produced a superb late comeback at Wigan - here Ollie Westbury rates the players.

Jamal Blackman

Announced as a Shrewsbury player just before the match at Wigan and was thrown straight into the starting XI. He did well on his Salop debut.

Solid: 7

Luca Hoole

Played on the right side of the back three. He did some good things in the game, but should have done better with Dale Taylor's second.

Mixed: 6

Morgan Feeney

Steady showing from Feeney. He was in the middle of the back three in the first half. He often goes under the radar.

Steady: 7

Josh Feeney

Won one vital header for Shrewsbury right at the very end of the match. Aside from that, he looked like he had been a bit short of match action.

Rusty: 6

Mal Benning

He gave the ball away midway through his own half for the Wigan second goal, and that gave Shrews a mountain to climb.

Almost costly: 5

Charles Sagoe Jr

Got his first start under Gareth Ainsworth playing as a right wing-back. He struggled to get into the game and was taken off before the hour mark.

Quiet: 5

Funso Ojo

Played for Gareth Ainsworth at Cambridge, but as a centre-back - he moved into midfield here. He moved the ball well as Town searched for a way back into it.

Decent: 6

Alex Gilliead

Has started every game under Ainsworth, but it looked like Thelo Aasgaard was his man on the edge of the box for Wigan's first.

Switched off: 5

Jordan Shipley

The former Coventry man showed last week how much quality he has. He has shown that so many times in a Salop shirt, but he was quiet in this one.

Quiet: 5

John Marquis

He won't get any of the plaudits for the result, but you can never fault Marquis' effort. He tried as hard as he always does in this one.

Tried: 6

Tommi O'Reilly

The one thing about O'Reilly is that he always wants the ball. He is the one Town player you feel can really create something, and he wins important free-kicks that gets them up the pitch when under pressure.

Steady: 6

Substitutes

Tom Bloxham 9 Superb impact. (Sagoe Jr 59) Leo Castledine 7 (O'Reilly 68), George Lloyd 7 (Marquis 68), Aaron Pierre n/a (J Feeney 80)

Not used: Young, Rossiter, Pierre, Bloxham, Castledine.
