West Brom player ratings as some struggle in defeat at Blackpool

Back after slight knock. One or two bits of early distribution put colleagues, namely Diakite, in some bother. One strong one-handed save low. Soundly beaten for goals. 5

Darnell Furlong 

Albion's full-backs struggled overall. Once or twice Blackpool attacks got in behind Furlong, who wore the armband and played 90 minutes. A couple of decent forward balls as game went on. 5

Torbjorn Heggem

A decent display. Looked his usual composed self though could not reach header for first goal. Otherwise measured defending. 6

Nat Phillips 

Another impressive early display from the new signing. Dominant in the air. Sent a headed chance just wide. A couple of loose touches but mostly recovered well. 6

Callum Styles

A difficult afternoon for the Hungary international. Could not clear for first goal and gave away free-kick for Pools second. 5

Ousmane Diakite

A mixed bag of some OK moments but some struggles. Punished when receiving ball in his own box early on but some otherwise decent bits of play. Powered in header. 5

Alex Mowatt

Busy looking for possession and trying to launch Albion moves. Again some decent bits of possession in midfield. Seemed to need more help. Good set-pieces. 6

Tom Fellows

Not as bright as his lightning display against Kyiv, but more minutes in the tank. Had some time on the left. Looks to have physically matured this season but did not get a run here. 5

Isaac Price

A couple of brief flashes of his quality from the attacking midfield position but more on the periphery. Albion need him more involved. 5

Karlan Grant 

Quiet first half but came alive more as Albion's threat after the break playing on the shoulder. Denied on a couple of occasions and one nice finish ruled out for offside. 6

Daryl Dike

Led the line and starved of any real goalscoring opportunities but did link play well at times using his physical might. Relatively pleased overall. 6
