West Brom in talks to sell young striker to Scottish club
The forward could be heading back north of the border.
Albion are in talks to sell young striker Eseosa Sule to St Mirren.
The Glasgow-born 20-year-old could potentially head back north of the border, three years after joining the Baggies from Celtic.
Sule has been a regular in Albion’s under-21s side and he made his first-team debut in a 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat at Fleetwood Town in 2024.
The Scot had a Championship cameo against Millwall at The Hawthorns in April.
The Baggies have already moved to strengthen their forward line this summer with the signings of Barney Stewart and Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
That means Sule, who spent the first half of last season on loan at Motherwell, has been pushed further down the pecking order.
Negotiations over his sale to St Mirren are underway, though no deal has yet been agreed.
While the fee the Baggies receive is likely to be low, a sell-on clause is likely to be included in any agreement.
The frontman has a year remaining on his contract at The Hawthorns.
Sule’s spell at Motherwell, a first stint in senior football, was wrecked by injury. He underwent surgery and the deal was cut short in January.
Academy graduate goalkeeper Josh Griffiths completed a transfer to Stoke last month. Youngster Akeel Higgins left for Wigan.
James Morrison’s men kickstart their pre-season friendly campaign with a behind-closed-doors friendly against Sheffield Wednesday, relegated from the Championship last season, at The FA’s St George’s Park base in Burton on Saturday lunchtime.
The squad fly to Portugal for a week’s training camp afterwards. A friendly against promoted League One new boys Bromley concludes the trip.
