The changes Wolves could make as they prepare for Bournemouth test
For the first time in 2026, Wolves are approaching a match hoping to bounce back from a defeat.
Rob Edwards' five-game unbeaten run started with a draw at Manchester United on December 30 and Wolves went on to win two matches - their first in the Premier League this season and an FA Cup battering of Shrewsbury Town.
Wolves lost to Manchester City last time out but had a good second half and did not embarrass themselves in a contest they were expected to lose.
Now, returning to Molineux to take on Bournemouth, the real test of this Wolves team will be how they can recover from defeat, get back on track and stay competitive.
Although relegation to the Championship is highly likely, Edwards has got Wolves playing recently and they have been able to restore some pride into the club and supporters.
It is essential that they continue that this season, regardless of where they finish, to ensure the long-term vision is much brighter than their current predicament.
As a result, they need to maintain some consistency and approach the Bournemouth test in the right way, against a team that will be buoyed by their late 3-2 win over Liverpool last time out.
Particularly playing at Molineux, Wolves will need to entertain and be on the front foot, and that is where some changes could be necessary.
The most obvious one is at right-wing-back. Jackson Tchatchoua has shown little to demonstrate he is at the required level and has been a frustrating watch this season.
He improved at home to Newcastle before a poor display against City, where he was taken off at half-time.

His replacement, Rodrigo Gomes, was far more lively and offered a good attacking threat. He plays with the correct attitude and desire and fans are calling out for his inclusion.
One of the towering strikers is likely to play, too, and with ongoing transfer interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen, it could mean Tolu Arokodare is back in the team.
Meanwhile, the only other decision to make is in midfield.
Edwards started his good run with Mateus Mane and Jhon Arias in front of recognised midfielder Joao Gomes, but Andre has since come back into the mix.
It is tough to drop one of the two Brazilians, but it is an option open to Edwards if he wants to play more attacking.
However, the head coach will also have to appreciate the technical ability of Bournemouth's midfield, which includes one-time Wolves target Alex Scott.
Another option for Wolves' squad is Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who Edwards hopes will be fit to feature on Saturday.
That is likely to be from the bench following a substantial hamstring injury, however his inclusion would be a boost.
Bellegarde would fit Edwards' new system perfectly as a number eight, in a slightly deeper and more central position, that he was having joy in before his injury.
Adding to Wolves' options will only help Edwards and his side as they look to get back on track.
Many of the players are talking publicly about not giving up on survival this season and although that is highly unlikely, that kind of attitude could help them pull off a result at Molineux.
