Shrewsbury Town were unable to build on their recent success in League One as they were beaten by a strong Bolton side.

Jamal Blackman

The Shrewsbury keeper made one outstanding save before the break to make sure Town led at the interval, there was very little he could do about any of the Bolton goals.

Helpless: 7

Luca Hoole

He did well in the first half and offered Shrews a great attacking outlet down the right, like the rest of the Salop team he tired late on but did find the energy to score right at the death.

Steady: 6

Josh Feeney

The youngster has been in good form in recent times but most of his good play has come in a back five, that changed on Saturday, but Feeney did OK considering his side let three in.

OK: 6

Morgan Feeney

Made several important blocks and interceptions, but like Josh, found his defence conceding three goals, which he will be disappointed with.

Decent: 6

Mal Benning

He combined very well with Taylor Perry in the first half as he offered a threat down the left side. Unable to get going after the break.

Mixed: 6

Funso Ojo

Returned to the starting XI after missing out in midweek against Reading, Ojo was busy in this one, but like the rest of the Town team, they were overrun in the second half.

OK: 6

Alex Gilliead

He made the Shrewsbury opener with his positive dart forward, and he was Ainsworth's biggest threat on the day.

Tidy: 7

Dominic Gape

Superb in the first half as Shrewsbury were very good against top-tier opponents, but he ran out of steam after the break and in the end, had to come off.

Ran out of steam: 6

Taylor Perry

He has been the Shrews star in recent matches so it will be concerning that he went off at half-time through injury. He had a mixed afternoon until that point.

Injured: 6

John Marquis

It looked like he was playing slightly deeper in the first period, and he struggled to get into the game that much. Gave his all, but nothing came off for him.

Tried: 5

Vadaine Oliver

He looked a real handful up front in the first 45 minutes, and he was rewarded with his first Shrews goal. Been a while since he started a game, and so came off.

Promising: 6

Substitutes:

Jordan Shipley 5 (Perry 45), Harrison Biggins 5 (Oliver 70), Callum Stewart 5 (Gape 70), Ricardo Dinanga (Gilliead 81), Toto Nsiala (Marquis 81)

Not used:  Savin, Nurse.
