Town are still searching to bolster their squad in order to give themselves the best chance of securing League One survival this season.

The head coach's side are currently bottom of the third tier of English football after back-to-back defeats in the last week.

The winter window slams shut on Monday evening, and Salop are still searching for players to add to their squad.

And Ainsworth, who has said in previous interviews he has done some of his best deals on deadline day, says whatever happens he is looking forward to working with his fully assembled squad.

"People will be watching the TV and the social media feeds, and that," he said about the final day of transfer. "But believe me, once that window shuts, that's my favourite time of year because I've got what I've got.

"I'm a real sort of give me what I've got, and I make the absolute most of it guy.

"I won't be going oh god I wish I'd have got more or I wish I could have had him. I'll be like, right, this is what we've got.

"This is what we're going with boys. It's no secret that when I walked in here we dropped so many points. We were so far off it.

"To do it (achieve League One survival this season) I think will be a phenomenal achievement for these boys, and I believe they can do it. I just think they may need one or two more just to help."

Salop are back in action today as they welcome Nigel Clough's Mansfield Town side to Shropshire looking to build on their positive home form in recent weeks.
