WILL BROOK

Made his home league debut and looked steady between the sticks. He couldn't do much about the goals but showed he is a competent deputy.

Respectable: 6

TOM SANG

The forward-thinking full-back had a steady game, he was not in the spotlight too much, but wanted to push forward when he could.

Steady: 6

LUCA HOOLE

Came back into the team and into a new role, replacing the injured Tom Anderson at right centre-back, he did okay and showed that he is adaptable.

Okay: 6

WILL BOYLE

Lost Alex Gilbey for the first goal, who flicked the ball on to Scott Hogan, but Boyle did have a late headed chance.

Mediocre: 5

SAM STUBBS

It was not his best match in blue and amber, and he could have done better to clear the ball when Will Collar stabbed home.

Disappointing: 5

SAM CLUCAS

The experienced pro will not want to watch the first goal back after he lost Scott Hogan, but he is a level above on the ball.

Varied: 6

TOMMY MCDERMOTT

The Burnley loanee had a long distance effort in the first half, which went way wide, but he provided some energy in the centre of the park.

Relentless: 6

TAYLOR PERRY

One of the longest serving members of the Shrews squad, but he was not at his usual level and failed to create any major chances.

Fruitless: 5

ISMEAL KABIA

Was the best player on the pitch for Shrewsbury, he could have had a goal and showed he certainly has an eye for a pass. Just needs to find that cutting edge.

Tenacious: 7

JOHN MARQUIS

The captain didn't get going, and another game where he has failed to find the net or look a threat in front of goal.

Ineffective: 5

BRADLEY IHIONVIEN

Had a difficult first half and could not get a foothold in the game, and the forward was replaced by George Lloyd at half time.

Subbed: 5

SUBSTITUTES

George Lloyd (Ihionvien, 45) 6, Chuks Aneke (McDermott, 65) 7, Harrison Biggins (Perry, 65) 6, Isaac England (Sang, 89) 6. Subs not used: Harrison, Scully, Nsiala
