The 31-year-old arrived at Molineux in September 2020 from Barcelona, and he has made more than 150 Premier League appearances during his stint.

The wing-back was named as captain at the back end of 2024, and he has made 24 appearances for Wolves this season across all competitions.

Semedo is out of contract in the summer, and Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has gone on record saying he wants him to stay.

Questions about his future were put to the Portuguese international after the win at Bournemouth at the weekend.

“It's really good to have the confidence from the coach," he said. “I already spoke to him about my situation.

“And we'll see what the future holds. I've been talking with the club.”

Wolves moved five points clear from safety at the weekend with a vital 1-0 victory over one of the Premier League's in-form sides.

That win came courtesy of Matheus Cunha's 14th goal of the season, and his fourth strike in as many matches.

The win saw Wolves keep their fifth clean sheet of the season against Andoni Iraola's team who had Illia Zabarnyi sent off just past the half-hour mark.

Semedo is well aware of how good their number 10 is, and he described him as 'one of the best players' in the Premier League.

"He is a very important player for us," Semedo said about Cunha. "He is one of the best players in the league, and he is helping us a lot.

"He helps us with goals, not only with the goals but also with his performance and his defensive work.

"He knows how important he is for us. When the guys see him working that hard, everybody will give more, and everybody will give that extra that we need.

"We are very lucky to have him. I hope he keeps helping the team, and we will try to help him the best way we can as well.

"That is my personal opinion, but I think a lot of people think like that (about Cunha being one of the best in the league). He is doing really well, and we are very lucky to have him.

"We are going to try to help him the best way we can. To feed him, to give him confidence because I think he is a very important player for us and I think he is making the difference in all the games actually.

"I think you can see his desire to win the games, and his ability with the ball is another level.

"He is a very good guy. I really like him. I have a very good relationship with him and his family as well. When he is good, he really can help us."
