Paul Williams shone brightest for Garnons with a staggering 140 runs from just 80 balls - while Craig Lawrence (32), Andy Johnson and Darren Ford (both 30) helped guide them to an impressive 319/8.

In response, Aled Powell and Dylan Mcphee produced 76 apiece alongside Dylan James’ undefeated 38, but were eventually bowled out for 313 inside the 43rd over.

In Division Seven South, Kington returned to winning ways at home to Almeley with a four-wicket success.

Pryse Whittal high-scored for Almeley with 54 and Matt Jones also produced a respectable 31, as Almeley signed off on 184/8.

But Ben George (38), Chris Lloyd (32) and Duncan Morgan (20) helped put Kington on the cusp of victory, which was sealed by Joseph Houchin and Rhys Morgan’s undefeated 17 and 11, as they finished 185/6.

Hay-on-Wye climbed back into third spot in Division Eight (South) after Cannon Frome conceded defeat ahead of their trip to Hay Sports Field.

Ross on Wye suffered defeat at Eastnor by five wickets, which meant Hay-on-Wye leapfrogged them in the table.

Second-placed Dales remain 15 points ahead of Hay-on-Wye after they emerged with victory at Presteigne by 106 runs.

Paul Davies’ undefeated 131 from just 115 balls put Dales in pole position and he was assisted by Ollie Bufton (84) and Abdul Rehman (51).

They signed off with a staggering 327/5, which was always going to be a deficit that would be difficult to overturn.

And that is how it proved despite the efforts of Ben Amos (43), David Austin (33) and Morgan Speed and Billy Jones (both 25 not out).

Presteigne amassed a respectable 221/9 inside the allotted 45 overs, but remain sixth after a third successive defeat.

In Division Nine (Herefordshire North), Builth Wells seconds remain top after beating third-placed Knighton on Teme by 22 runs.

Paul Rowe (97) and Jon Corzon (64) were the standouts for Builth Wells as they claimed a second successive victory with 346/6.

Elsewhere, Kington seconds sit fourth after winning by 14 runs at Bromyard thirds.

Kington finished 195/9 thanks to David Moss (43), Joseph Houchin (38) and Connor Powles (30) - before Bromyard fell short at 181/8.
