After an opening day defeat, the Garth Road men were in the points as they picked up a victory on the second game of the campaign.

They were back in action on home soil on Saturday and made light work of taking out Brockhampton.

They won the toss and put the visitors in to bat - which turned out to be a masterstroke.

Having reduced the visitors to 11-1, they took out wickets are regular intervals with the visitors never looking likely to post a strong score.

The visitors managed to reach 51-3 but Builth then went on to take five wickets for just five runs - to put themselves in a commanding position.

They then cleaned up the tail with ease to leave Brockhampton all out for just 75.

It was an impressive day for Nathan Howell, who led the attack taking 4-16, while captain Dylan McPhee and Tanish Pandla took two wickets apiece.

The run chase looked to be a routine one and so it proved to it.

It took just overs for Builth to get the contest wrapped up - with wicketkeeper hitting 41 not out including nine fours.

And he was assisted by a 20 not out from Sujeewa Senarathne, as the hoke side romped to victory.

The win put them up into second in the table just behind Ledbury as they continue an impressive start to the season.

They’re back in action next week as they make the trip to Ombersley Thirds.
