Liam Keen comment: Positions Wolves could strengthen in January
January is fast approaching and with it comes another transfer window.

Wolves and their Premier League rivals will already be preparing their business plans to improve their squads in the New Year ahead of the second stage of the season.
Although Wolves were able to improve their squad depth for this campaign, there are still some areas they could address when the window opens.
Centre-back
After failing to replace Max Kilman and then losing Yerson Mosquera to a serious knee injury, Wolves will be targeting a centre-back in January.
This position will be Wolves' priority and could be the only target of the winter window, as they look to address their defender shortage with only three senior centre-backs currently available.
Gary O'Neil will want some Premier League experience and, ideally, someone who could come straight into the starting XI and help Wolves with their concerns over conceding goals and their weakness at set pieces.

Craig Dawson has had a strong season, Toti Gomes has improved in recent weeks and Santi Bueno has done well since coming into the team, but Wolves need a proven centre-back to help them move away from relegation danger.
With Hugo Bueno out on loan at Feyenoord, Wolves may need some cover at left-back too, although Matt Doherty can fill in there.
But by signing a centre-back that issue could be resolved, with Toti Gomes able to play on the left, while the club could target a left-footed centre-back that could also move over.
Winger
This season Wolves have plenty more width and depth in the squad but no-one has grabbed the shirt with both hands yet.
A position is available next to Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen, but O'Neil has not yet been able to rely on a player to hold down that position.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was given a go but is arguably better more centrally, Pablo Sarabia is a specialist player that cannot play in every game, while Hwang Hee-chan is only just coming back from injury after a bad start to the season.

Alongside them, new signings Carlos Forbs and Rodrigo Gomes are young and need time, while Goncalo Guedes has often been used from the bench and has occasionally played as a striker.
It is conceivable that Guedes could depart and although Wolves have depth in this position, they could do with some additional pace and quality to directly impact the starting XI.
If Hwang gets back to his best, however, that issue could be solved.
Striker
Wolves solved their number nine shortage in the summer with the signing of Larsen and the Norwegian has done well with four goals to his name.
Signing another striker would not be a priority for Wolves in January, with others capable of filling in if needed.

But in a perfect world, to avoid the issues of last season with no available striker, a suitable back-up to Larsen arriving would make it a fantastic window for Wolves.
Particularly if Guedes does leave, Wolves will need a proper number nine to replace Larsen in the case of any injuries and also to impact games from the bench.
Perhaps taking a player on loan would be the ideal scenario.
