Jamal Blackman

It was his fifth start in a Shrewsbury shirt, and he made some really good saves, but he could have done better with the goal, which turned out to be the winner.

Disappointed: 6

Luca Hoole

It has been a tough period for Shrews, but Hoole is one of the young players really improving under Gareth Ainsworth - he did well again here.

Steady: 7

Morgan Feeney

The former Carlisle man is consistent, and he like the rest of the Town defence has got better in recent weeks. He went under the radar in this one.

OK: 6

Josh Feeney

He was Town’s outstanding player on the day. He won the ball so many times, and you can see his confidence growing by the week. Made one brilliant challenge towards the end.

Very good: 8

Aaron Pierre

Ainsworth revealed after the game the defender was unwell before the match. He lost his man a few times, which was almost costly, but soldiered on.

Off day: 6

Mal Benning

The left wing-back is struggling for form at the moment. He got beaten too easily in the first half by Ethan Galbraith and should have done more to stop Jamie Donley from shooting for the Orient winner.

Tough: 5

Alex Gilliead

He returned to the Shrewsbury team for this clash after not being in the squad at Blackpool. A quiet afternoon for the former Bradford man.

Quiet: 6

Leo Castledine

Returned to the starting XI, and he put himself about in his home city. He is good in the air, and he wins balls against opponents who are bigger in stature. Tired second half and was withdrawn.

Tired: 6

Jordan Shipley

Worked well in the defensive unit in the first half but Town gave up possession too many times in the second period, and Shipley was guilty of being a little careless with the ball.

Quiet: 6

Tom Bloxham

He has been so good for Shrewsbury recently but Saturday was just not his day. He looked tired. It was a game too far for him.

Knackered: 6

John Marquis

Tough afternoon for Town’s main striker. There was little for him going forward and he struggled to hold the ball up when it came his way.

Quiet: 5

Substitutes

Jordan Rossiter 6 (Gilliead 60), Josh Kayode 6 (Marquis 71), George Lloyd 6 (Shipley 71), Carl Winchester 6 (Pierre 71), Funso Ojo n/a (Castledine 79)

Not used: Savin, Perry.
