Wolves made a breakthrough earlier this week when they closed in on a £15million deal for the winger, before his Brazilian club Fluminense returned to the table to negotiate the final price.

A deal has now been agreed for around £14.7million, with around £4.3million in add-ons and a 10 per cent sell-on clause. Clubs often work in euros, with the conversion coming out at €17million with €5million in add-ons.

Arias is due to complete his Wolves medical next week outside of the UK while the club sort his visa and he is then likely to join up with Vitor Pereira's side later next week.

The Colombian international will follow the £19.5million signing of Fer Lopez and become Wolves' second addition this summer, as the club work on bolstering the team's attack.

Wolves have been chasing Arias' signature for a number of weeks and now finally seem set to land the senior forward, following the departure of Matheus Cunha to Manchester United in a £62.5million deal.

Arias was named on the right wing in the team of the tournament for the Club World Cup as Fluminense got to the semi-final, where they lost to eventual winners Chelsea.

The Brazilian league is currently ongoing and Fluminense play at home to Cruzeiro tonight. It remains to be seen if Arias is involved, but it is thought to be unlikely as he nears an exit.

So far this season he has scored four and assisted 13 in 34 games, while last year he notched 15 goals and eight assists across 53 matches in a number of competitions.

Arias has previously spoken publicly of his desire to play in Europe and he will now do so for the first time in his career as the 27-year-old closes in on his Wolves move.

Despite his lack of experience in European football, he brings significant experience domestically and internationally and improves Wolves' attacking options.

Arias can also play across the front line and will bring some versatility to the team, which bolsters Pereira's options in the final third.
