"It's really important" - Rob Edwards on Wolves' summer plans for squad rebuild
Rob Edwards has warned Wolves cannot delay their summer spending ahead of a squad rebuild.
With eight Premier League games remaining, Wolves are 12 points from safety and are expected to be relegated to the Championship.
Plans are already being drawn up on how Wolves will attack the summer transfer window and Edwards is keen not to delay.
When asked if owners Fosun are prepared to spend in the summer, Edwards said: "I've not spoken numbers and I don't necessarily need to know that right now, but I think obviously that was the reason for some of the decisions in January.
"Going forward into the summer I think we'll be in a position where we can be aggressive and get some work done early.
"I've stressed that to the guys as well, as someone who's lived this sort of situation before, that it's really important we can get to work with a group really quickly and puts us in best position to build to build something.
"There's a lot of hard work going into that. I think we'll be in a good spot."
With interim chairman Nathan Shi and technical director Matt Jackson leading the club's attempt to bounce back next season, weekly meetings are taking place to shape Wolves' strategy.
The head coach expects the club to be in a 'good position' to make the right decisions on players.
Edwards added: "We have weekly meetings now. We have a fairly good idea of what's going to happen so we can really get ahead of the game.
"Obviously we've not got a crystal ball so we don't fully know what's going to happen but transfers are a delicate business anyway.
"There's loads of things and people have got to be happy for it all to work.
"We've got a good idea of what the situation is and we have to use that to our advantage and make it make this difficult situation make it work in our favour.
"There's a lot of good people in good positions now and we're working really hard to get a good plan together to make sure that we're in a good position moving forward.
"We admit there's been mistakes that have been made, we know we're in a really difficult position right now but hopefully then everyone can get on board with the changes we're going to make and can see we're going do the right thing for the football club."
