Shropshire's Adrian Gunnell has bemoaned his inconsistency after bowing out of the UK Snooker Championships to Mark King in York yesterday.
The Telford cueman got off to the perfect start with breaks of 81 and 70 helping him land the opening two frames.
But King then rattled off eight frames on the trot, and not even a late Gunnell rally could prevent him losing the first round tie 9-4.
"I'm frustrated because I know I can play much better than that," he said. "I can usually rely on my safety but I wasn't even getting to the baulk line - it was garbage.
"It's just inconsistency, not so much with my performance but the way I feel. Some days I just feel really lethargic and flat and I could feel myself switching off in the third frame yesterday."
