Pundit who repeatedly slammed Rob Edwards makes surprising comment about Wolves boss
The talkSPORT pundit has been a big critic of Edwards since he left Middlesbrough for Wolves.
A pundit who has laid into Rob Edwards on numerous occasions since he landed the Wolves job - has given his backing to the manager after the club’s latest result.
Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, who is a regular pundit on talkSPORT, and has heavily criticised Edwards since he departed Boro for Molineux last year.
Since then he has been critical of him on a number of occasions - but the outspoken pundit has surprisingly given his backing to Edwards.
It comes after Edwards pulled no punches with comments regarding some of his players - in the wake of their 3-0 defeat at Brighton.
The Wolves chief said players ‘need to go’ and that their situation was ‘embarrassing’.
And Jordan believes Edwards as done the right thing in digging out his players for ‘letting the club down’.
He said: “I don’t think there’s anything unfair in what he said.
“He players have been useless all season. Other managers have said it previously. I remember Martin O’Neill talking about some of the players that were in that dressing room, giving it Billy big licks in terms of ‘Well we’ve got to stand up’.
“I think one of them was Doherty – he was having none of him, Martin O’Neill, about what he says and what he doesn’t say and when it comes to saying it rather than doing it.
“They need clearing out. There’s players in there that haven’t been good enough all season, that have been blaming everyone else besides from themselves, and they’ve let the club down.”
