New head coach arrives to complete Wolves move
Wolves are set to complete the deal.
Cesar Peixoto is arriving at Wolves’ training ground this morning to become the club’s new head coach.
The 46-year-old will leave his role at Portuguese side Gil Vicente and take over at Wolves, following the shock sacking of Rob Edwards this week.
Peixoto is already in the country and will arrive at Compton this morning (Friday) to put pen to paper on his deal to take over the Championship club.
An unveiling of Peixoto as Wolves’ new head coach is then likely to be imminent.
Edwards was sacked over the phone on Thursday morning after leaks on social media revealed Wolves’ move for Peixoto.
Some senior staff at Wolves were unaware of the managerial change, as club chairman Nathan Shi and Fosun chairman and co-founder Guo Guangchang worked with Jorge Mendes and his Gestifute agency to seal the deal for Peixoto.
