In the latest West Midlands derby, Wolves and Villa are in two very different places.

But like any game against a rival, these fixtures have a way of evening the odds.

Battles across the pitch will determine who leaves Villa Park with the bragging rights and we took a look at some that could have a big say in the outcome.

Watkins v Dawson

Ollie Watkins is one of the Premier League’s most dangerous strikers and the England international finally found his scoring boots this season against Everton last time out.

The forward will be integral to the way Villa play as they look to use home advantage over Wolves.

But Craig Dawson will be tasked with stopping him and the defender poses a tough test for Watkins.

The experienced centre-back has got the shirt back after starting the season on the bench and has already proven his worth to Gary O’Neil’s side. He commands and leads the players around him and will play a big role in any positive result for Wolves.

Rogers v Andre

Morgan Rogers has already impressed for Villa in the early stages of the season and will be a big threat on Saturday.

Wolves will be well aware of his quality and will need to use their superb midfield to nullify him.

That role may fall to new signing Andre, who has already taken his place as the number six just in front of the defence.

He had a fantastic full debut against Newcastle as he showed his quality in and out of possession.

The Brazilian international will be essential to Wolves’ success.

Cunha v Torres

Despite a tough start to the season, Wolves offer plenty of threat going forward and key player Matheus Cunha is at the heart of it.

He picks up positions that are difficult for defenders to track and makes things happen.

Pau Torres will not be alone in his task to keep Cunha quiet, whether the Brazilian is playing out wide or more centrally.

If Cunha wins this battle, he drastically increases Wolves’ chances of a good result.
