The 21-year-old has arrived at the League One side having signed a new contract at Wolves.
Lonwijk is no stranger to the third tier, having previously spent time on loan at Plymouth Argyle and Wycombe Wanderers.
He won the League One title with Argyle in the 2022/23 season, featuring 41 times.
Lonwijk then joined Grasshoppers last season before picking up an injury, returning to Wolves and then leaving on loan again for Wycombe.
