Wolves' Morgan Gibbs-White back from conquering the world

Wolves showed off their World Cup winner last night when Stafford youngster Morgan Gibbs-White took to the Molineux turf at half-time during their match against Fulham.

Gibbs-White – a former Thomas Telford School and Sir Graham Balfour School student – was part of the England Under-17 team that beat Spain 5-2 in last weekend's final in India. The youngster featured in all seven of England's games, scoring two goals including one in the final.

Gibbs-White told the Molineux crowd he'd had the time of his life – and was then presented with a signed England shirt by Wolves legend and former England international Steve Bull, and academy manager Gareth Prosser.

"It was unbelievable," Gibbs-White said. "I'm still speechless now. It was the best experience of my life. I'm glad to make all my family proud."

The 17-year-old returned to England earlier this week and has been lauded by Wolves' academy staff and head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Another World Cup winner – 1966 squad member Ron Flowers – was also at Molineux last night.
