West Brom player ratings: Several 7s and standout star as Baggies and Millwall draw blank in watchable stalemate

Albion correspondent Lewis Cox rates the performances as James Morrison’s side chalk up another point in the Championship safety hunt.

MAX O’LEARY

Only time he was really stretched was fine stop for strike heading wide. But otherwise did everything he needed to with ease and confidence.

Secure 7

DANNY IMRAY

The Crystal Palace loanee continues to really catch the eye. A lively outlet down a right side otherwise lacking in threat and was very defensively solid with crucial clearance.

Improving 7

NAT PHILLIPS

Part of a crucial clean sheet but he and Campbell have had more watertight games of late. At times the clever Ivanovic got the better of him and lucky with Coburn let-off.

Dip 6

GEORGE CAMPBELL

One or two lapses again from the US defender but otherwise he and Phillips did OK. At times had colleagues to thank for a bailout but otherwise defended reasonably.

Average 6

CALLUM STYLES

Really good display overall from the impressive left-back on his return to that role. Always a threat when trying to attack but his defensive work was diligent on several occasions here.

Solid 7

JAYSON MOLUMBY

Used in a very unfamiliar right midfield role and he did well enough. Didn’t shirk responsibility to get forward. While lacked final ball in some situations he kept going. Drilled wide from range and denied massive late chance by fine save.

Busy 7

ALEX MOWATT

Back in the side for a first start in seven games - his first of this unbeaten run - and took some time to get going but largely kept things simple at base of midfield. Tried to get forward when possible.

Return 6

OUSMANE DIAKITE

Another star man display. He is flying. Physically immense but technically has come on leaps and bounds. Happy to try Cruyff turns and outside-of-foot passes now. Playing with maximum confidence.

Blossoming 8

ISAAC PRICE

A mixed bag with some fans frustrated by some poor set-piece delivery but some excellent dribbling work got Albion in some threatening positions and laid on some openings.

Mixed 6

AUNE HEGGEBO

Not the Norwegian’s night in front of goal as little dropped his way. Kept going but seemed jaded at times, understandably.

Tired 6

DARYL DIKE

A first start in six games and he delivered a decent display. Looked quite sharp and dynamic which was refreshing. Threat in the air against giant defenders. Ran hard and turned well at times.

Dynamic 7

Substitutes:

Josh Maja (for Heggebo, 68) Mostly on fringes. 5

Eseosa Sule (for Dike, 64) n/a

Subs not used: Griffiths (gk), Taylor, Gilchrist, Whitwell, Jimoh-Aloba, Mustapha, Bostock.
