West Brom injury update for Hull, 'headaches' on players going again and change of scene offered after draw setback
Boss James Morrison revealed he sent Albion players for a recovery spa session on Thursday for a chance to "breathe" and "be free" in the heat of the relegation battle.
The second-bottom Baggies had a first Championship win of 2026 swiped from them in stoppage time of Wednesday night's home clash against Southampton.
Albion face a quick turnaround for another home clash against promotion-chasers with Hull City in town on Saturday. Morrison was keen to give his players the chance to recover in different surroundings, with a chance to breathe and escape the demands for a few hours as the survival quest intensifies.
Morrison told the Express & Star: "You're going into the dressing room and thinking 'what are you going to say?' and what are the right words to use because you've got to pick them up again with games coming thick and fast.
"We let them be free on Thursday. We did something a little bit different from previously.
"They just come in, we had some breakfast, had a little chat and then I said they can go up to the spa, where they could have a recovery with a different way of recovering really. That's the main idea of it.
"I just wanted them to breathe a little bit in these situations. It can be full-on all the time.
"You've got to breathe at the right times and going into the game being clear of the consequences and stuff like that and then we came in today (Friday) and we were back at it and prepared really well. I was happy the way today went and with the mood."

Albion have delivered improved displays under Morrison at Sheffield United and against Southampton but the clashes have yielded just two points, with lowly rivals including Oxford and Leicester chalking up wins.
Hull check into The Hawthorns with the joint-best away record in the division.
Morrison is considering how to preserve the improved feel of his side's displays and will use a similar line-up, if possible, because he values the continuity.
"I think I've got the biggest selection headache I've faced!" Morrison said.
"You're weighing up all the options and looking from the other night what it took out of us. I like the continuity, the feelgood factor of getting results.
"I've got to take my time and think what's best and right."
Midfielder Ousmane Diakite was cramp-riddled in the closing stages and striker Daryl Dike was withdrawn after his first back-to-back starts in three years.
The head coach added: "It's about what you've done Thursday, what you've done Friday and there's still time to recover until three o'clock.
"I see the lads being professional and doing the right things so I've got no qualms in that.
"I can see everyone's ready and wanting to be a part of it so that's good. It's up to me to pick the right team."
Diakite, one of several Albion players out of contract in the summer, gave a big man of the match display on Wednesday having been selected again ahead of Alex Mowatt.
Morrison said: "Well it was just Sheffield United being away from home, and then we got a result so I like to keep it positive with results - and I know what Oussie can bring into the team.
"Also with Mowey, I know he's a big part of this team, a big part in the dressing room. I've got a really good relationship with Mowey so I'm really happy with him and he'll be a big part of it as well."

Weighing up further involvement for Dike given the striker's injury history, he added: "I've also got to be careful about the bigger picture of the games left. He's been a big plus.
"He was better again on Wednesday, keeps improving so for him being out so long as well, there's going to be times where he's a bit rusty but other times you'll see what Daryl can bring to the team.
I've also got to think of Daryl himself. So we'll see what happens."
Albion will again make a late on defender Krystian Bielik (shoulder) who was sidelined in midweek. Fellow centre-back Chris Mepham (hamstring) is still not ready.
