Ewood Park to 'feel like West Brom home game' as army of 7,500 travelling Baggies head north
Albion are set for their biggest away following in many years as an army of supporters head to Lancashire on Easter Monday.
Excited James Morrison reckons Albion’s trip to Blackburn Rovers will feel like a home game thanks to an army of travelling Baggies.
Morrison’s men will be backed by the club’s biggest away following in recent memory at Ewood Park for Easter Monday’s crunch Championship relegation six-pointer.
A groundswell of support has rallied behind resurgent Albion in their bid to beat the drop. The Baggies made it five games unbeaten - two wins and three draws - with Friday’s clash against Wrexham as the Red Dragons fought level from 2-0 down.
Morrison has been blown away by the support and insists his troops want to repay the faith.
“I'm sure the fans will make it feel like a home game,” said Morrison.
“It's up to us to give back to them the appreciation.
“We'll keep going and keep our level of performance as we've been doing.
“The Wrexham result won't dampen our spirits.”
Fans are travelling to Lancashire in their droves as the club laid on free coach travel from The Hawthorns.
“It's a big plus,” said Morrison. “It's credit to the club.
“In this situation we've all got to be together and that's what we are.”
The Baggies, in 20th and four points clear of the drop, will climb above 19th-placed Blackburn with a second away victory on the spin.
Morrison would be content with a four-point return from the Easter Bank Holiday double-header against Wrexham and Rovers.
“I can't remember as much following as 7,500 over the years,” added the head coach.
“The fans are with us. They're going to be really important.
“All we've just got to focus on is the performance, really. Focus on the performance and the results will come.
“Friday was another game ticked off. A point and we go again for Monday. I think if we back it up with a win it's a good point.”
