Lewis Cox's West Brom player ratings: Abysmal marks from abject Portsmouth capitulation
Albion capitulated once again in a relegation six-pointer as rivals Portsmouth cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory at Fratton Park.
We rate the performance on yet another miserable away day for Albion.
MAX O'LEARY
Beaten three times but made no real error for either goal. Second went through his legs. Made one good stop on stroke of half-time to stop it being worse. Almost kept out third.
Peppered 4
NAT PHILLIPS
Made a couple of noticeable clearances but once again played around far too easily and dragged off at half-time. Neither he nor Mepham could help cover Imray.
Dragged 3
CHRIS MEPHAM
No better than his defensive colleague after a recall due to injuries. Seems to add no physicality or level of commanding. Such a sluggish backline.
Statuesque 3
CHARLIE TAYLOR
Perhaps fortunate to get a three as poorest of the backline after he stayed in due to absentees. One early error almost costly. Did make one recovery tackle late to keep it at 3-0.
Awful 3
DANNY IMRAY
A debut to forget. No worse than colleagues but this was a baptism of fire for the young loanee signed on Friday. Caught behind at right wing-back for two goals. Hooked at break.
Debut to forget 3
JAYSON MOLUMBY
Tried to set the tone by snapping into a couple of tackles but couldn't get going. Let Chaplin run off him and the Pompey man stayed unmarked for first goal.
Low-key 4
OUSMANE DIAKITE
Never one to shirk the fight and kept trying to get a foot in but limited generally. Some decent challenges so can have a bit of credit.
OK 4
SAMUEL ILING-JUNIOR
The left wing-back's nightmarish loan from Villa extends as he continues to face the ire from fans. Another taken off at half-time after weak and very limited first half.
Weak 3
ISAAC PRICE
A real day to forget for Price who is badly struggling for form. Back in a normal more attacking role but he was totally anonymous. Will be remembered for full-time altercation with fans.
Anonymous 3
MIKEY JOHNSTON
Very off-colour too, which is a concern as the main source of creativity. His side's only shot on target, from range with his left foot. Too often complaining.
Quiet 3
AUNE HEGGEBO
Slightly higher mark for continuing to work and toil away in final third but total scraps and no quality produced by striker. Now 10 without a goal. Not good enough.
Barren 4
Substitutes:
Callum Styles (for Phillips, 45) Left-back in a back four but had little impact. 4
Josh Maja (for Iling-Junior, 45) Looked totally bereft of confidence and quality. 3
Alfie Gilchrist (for Imray, 45) Like Styles, Gilchrist on the opposite side made next-to-no difference. 3
Jed Wallace (for Johnston, 63) Did not come off for former Pompey man. 4
Alex Mowatt (for Molumby, 73) n/a
Subs not used: Griffiths, Whitwell, Bostock, Maja
