'Give it him': West Brom fans give James Morrison verdict and react to huge Preston victory
James Morrison guided Albion to their eighth game unbeaten - as they beat Preston 2-0.
James Morrison led Albion to a huge win over Preston - as they made it eight games unbeaten in the battle for survival.
Goals from Josh Maja and Daryl Dike were enough to move Albion onto 49 points - as they took advantage of defeats for Oxford and Leicester to move closer to survival.
A win on Tuesday evening against Watford and results going their way elsewhere could mean Albion are mathematically safe.
There is still the small matter of the potential points deduction for financial issues - but survival is close.
Albion fans have been having their say after the win over Preston, and some believe they should hand club legend Morrison the job.
One said: “Win Tuesday and even if get points deduction should be good.”
Another added: “If we didn’t sign James Morrison would we possibly be going down to League 1.”
Here is a selection of some of the other reactions. One fan posted on X saying: “The noise after that dike goal went in was tremendous! Great result. A massive step closer to survival
“Fantastic results, and a great performance, thoroughly deserved win,” added another.
One wants to see Morrison installed permanently as they added: “Give Morrison the job! 49 points would see us safe I think, just need to cover the deduction now.”
Others added: “Massive away victory in a must win game, clean sheet, 8 games unbeaten under Magic Mozza, the Major on point, Daryl Dike redemption arc and an Oxford defeat.”
While another also agreed it could be Morrison’s job, stating: “Mozza deserves all the praise, the run is, for this squad, incredible and he’s got the best out of them. Not the one for wanting interim coaches to take over, but Mozza has these players at the palm of his hands.”
