Alex Palmer

Couldn’t do much about either goal. One key save for his side early at 0-0.

Key 6

Semi Ajayi

His error led to that early Boro chance. At times looked shaky on ball, used it well, especially some lofted passes.

Shaky 6

Cedric Kipre

Very good and a shame to have two goals against. Bullet goal but general defence good, calm with ball.

Impressive 8

Erik Pieters

Steady for the most part but poor late error handed Forss a chance. Lack of pace showed at times.

Error 6

Darnell Furlong

Throw led to opener but slack in possession at times and handball gave away penalty. Albion will look for more options this week.

Slack 5

Jayson Molumby

His best for a few games. Good energy, loose with ball once or twice but otherwise busy and effective.

Effective 7

Okay Yokuslu

Carried out his typical screening job calmly with little fuss. He’s missed when subbed off. Needs to be on field for longer.

Screen 6

Matt Phillips

Corberan noted him out of position for Boro’s first but went close with two good first-half efforts. A weapon in that wing-back role but not natural defender.

Energy 7

John Swift

His best this term by some distance and needs to try to maintain it. Stunning goal but classy all-round link play. More like what he can do.

Classy 8

Jed Wallace

Advanced role alongside Thomas-Asante. One or two sharp runs to byline but less involved than Albion would like.

Quiet 6

Brandon Thomas-Asante

Already up to three goals after good anticipation and finish and the rest of his play was on song. Combined with team-mates well and was threat on the shoulder.

Shoulder 7

Substitutes

Conor Townsend (for Phillips, 64) Always an option. Some good balls 6; Alex Mowatt (for Yokuslu, 64) Looked after ball well 7; Josh Maja (for Thomas-Asante, 64) Linked play well 6; Josh Sarmiento (for Wallace, 69) Memorable and fine strike 7; Nathaniel Chalobah (for Swift, 84) 6. Subs not used: Griffiths, Bartley, Ingram, Fellows.
