Will Boyle keen to relive header that secured Shrewsbury Town safety
Boyle reflected on his match-winning header against Oldham Athletic
Match-winner Will Boyle admitted he would be watching his goal back after playing a key role in securing Shrewsbury Town’s safety.
Boyle’s superb header into the right corner from around the penalty spot sealed consecutive home wins for Shrewsbury.
Salop also retained their Football League status with the victory, after which Boyle expressed his delight at scoring his fourth league goal of the season.
He said: “Everyone keeps telling me it was a great header and to be fair, it did feel like it. I'll definitely be having a watch of it back.
“One thing we've done all season is share the goals around. People will probably want to put their name in the hat a little bit more to have scored more goals, being at the top end of the pitch.
“But if that's not happening, they're doing so much work for us without the ball. Set plays are important for us.

“I've got a decent record throughout my whole career. We've got Tom Anderson and Sam Stubbs who want to attack the ball, John sniffs stuff out.
“So we've got to work with the tools that we've got and we've managed to do that again.”
Salop now have a stress-free final three games of the season ahead following their resurgence under Gavin Cowan, moving 14 points clear of danger.
Asked how he might celebrate, Boyle admitted: “I'm not too sure. I'm tired after that one to be honest - and I'm shivering.
“It's been freezing, it's been warm, so I need to get myself regulated first and then see how I go from there but nothing much to be honest.”
Cowan has won half of his 16 matches in charge since taking the reins in late January, and Boyle praised his approach and impact at the club.

Reflecting on the head coach’s influence, Boyle said: “Very good. The results show that, but ultimately those results have come from a clear process which gives us clarity.
“That's what we need to invest in as players, and I think the results have backed that up and shown that.
“We've been competitive in pretty much every game we've had, apart from Crewe, where for a number of different reasons we weren't at it, and they punished us for that.
“Apart from that, we've been competitive in every game and it's been nip and tuck. Thankfully, we've managed to fall to the right side of quite a lot of them.
“The results speak for themselves. Ultimately, that's what managers are judged on. He's had a decent record so far and the process is why, ultimately.”
