Shrewsbury v Wigan: Ollie Westbury's predicted team

Shrewsbury have got two good points in their last two games and they now need to go again this weekend against Wigan.

It is Town's first three-game week with games on Saturday, Tuesday and then the following Saturday in 2024 so the players may feel a little tired after putting in two massive shifts.

They have taken five points from Paul Hurst's first four games in charge and the performances of his team have been really encouraging.

But what will he do with his team on Saturday as they welcome Shaun Maloney's Wigan?

Marko Marosi

The Town number one, who made several excellent saves on Tuesday, will be in between the posts.

Mal Benning

Been Town's best player of 2024 and has played every minute since Hurst arrived.

Chey Dunkley

Town's captain and leader will be in the team.

Aaron Pierre

It was a mixed bag from Pierre on Tuesday, but he has been OK since Hurst arrived.

Morgan Feeney

Done well at right-back in the absence of an alternative. Looked a bit tired on Tuesday, and it will be him or Elliott Bennett for that spot.

Carl Winchester

Been so good of late, another who will play.

Jack Hinchy

Hurst's only signing since coming back to the club, he settled into the team well.

Tom Bayliss

Produced one of his best performances of the season on Tuesday, and you would expect him to keep his place.

Jordan Shipley

Not quite at the races on Tuesday, but offers something different on the left wing and offers width.

Tom Bloxham

Most likely the freshest of Town's players as he was suspended for the game against Derby.

Dan Udoh

Has been electric of late and he has to play.

Subs: Burgoyne, Bowman, Sobowale, Bennett, Sraha, O'Brien, Sraha.
