Shrewsbury Town player ratings as second-half goals condemn Salop to defeat

Matt Cox

Helpless for both second-half goals and largely untested otherwise. Made the routine saves when required but lacked protection in a frustrating afternoon.

Isolated: 6

Tom Anderson

Battled well at the back making several important tackles and showed commitment before being substituted with a hip injury around the hour mark.

Committed: 7

Will Boyle

Could not impose in Cheltenham’s box - his aerial presence unable to offer much attacking threat. Despite winning several aerial duels could not clear before Cheltenham’s opener or the corner for their second.

Thwarted: 5

Sam Stubbs

Part of a defence that held firm early but faded after the break. Failed to deal with the corner that led to Cheltenham’s second, allowing the game to slip away.

Beaten: 6

Ismael Kabia

Worked hard tracking back in the first half and made a few crucial tackles to stop attacks developing. Offered occasional forward runs but lacked the final product.

Tackled: 6

Tom Sang

Steady presence in midfield, delivering a few decent crosses and reading the game well. Broke up Cheltenham counters effectively but struggled to spark real attacking momentum.

Composed: 6

Taylor Perry

Booked early which limited his ability to influence the game physically. Could not impose himself creatively and struggled to provide the midfield spark Town needed.

Carded: 5

Kevin Berkoe

One of Town’s brighter performers, getting forward regularly down the left and linking play well. Delivered dangerous balls towards Trey Ogunsuyi and showed intent.

Lively: 6

Tommy McDermott

Endured a physical afternoon and absorbed several heavy challenges. Had Town’s best early opportunity but narrowly missed, and struggled to find rhythm after that chance.

Missed: 6

Trey Ogunsuyi

Tasked with being the focal point up front but could not replicate the previous week’s impact. Lacked service and struggled to impose his physical presence.

Quiet: 5

Iwan Morgan

Looked one of the more threatening attackers, rattling the crossbar with a well-struck first-half free-kick. However, he could not maintain influence as the game drifted away.

Frustrated: 6
