Shrewsbury Town look to bounce back from their stutter

Shrewsbury Town boss Graham Turner today urged Shrewsbury Town to overcome their recent "stutter"and rediscover their passing poise in this week's away double header.

Town suffered their second home defeat in three Greenhous Meadow outings as they went down 1-0 to Swindon on Saturday.

The reverse leaves Shrewsbury in 16th place in League One with nine points from as many games, ahead of testing away trips to Brentford tomorrow and Doncaster on Saturday.

And Turner knows it's vital his side get back to emulating their impressive early season displays.

He said: "We have had a stutter in two of our last three home matches with Scunthorpe and Swindon.

"We didn't seem to get our passing going often enough. On occasions in the first-half we did it and looked OK.

"Rarely in the second half did we really get any passing and movement going which has been the hallmark of our play all season.

"We have to be disappointed with the level of performances individually and collectively on Saturday.

"I know we are a lot better than that and we have to come out and prove it.

"We have got a squad of players and a percentage of them haven't played at this level before.

"It's important we keep confidence high because we have shown so far this season we can play football."

Turner was satisfied with the debuts of his two loanees, defender Lee Collins and striker Sam Winnall.

He said: "Lee needed game time. Sam got himself into a couple of good positions in the first half and had a couple of efforts."
