Shrewsbury Town 0 Bournemouth 3

A Brett Pitman double kept Bournemouth's promotion roller-coaster on track against a lacklustre Shrewsbury Town.

The in-form frontman made it eight goals in seven outings as the Cherries eased to victory at the Greenhous Meadow.

Pitman didn't need any invitation to step up and continue his scoring run after Jon Taylor tripped former Shrewsbury winger Marc Pugh in the box after just four minutes.

The striker beat Chris Weale at the right-hand post with his spot kick. And he was just as ruthless with a second-half finish.

Shortly after, Town came close to drawing level when a looping header from skipper Matt Richards hit the underside of the bar.

League One's player-of-the-month later curled in an exquisite 25-yarder beyond Chris Weale into the far corner (53).

He also laid claim to the third goal with a near-post touch to Charlie Daniels' delivery after a short-corner routine, although Jermaine Grandision diverted the ball past Chris Weale (61).
