Shrewsbury Town 0-0 MK Dons - match report
Shrewsbury Town started their League One campaign with a goalless draw at home to MK Dons.
Town, who included three debutants in John Marsden, Tamika Mkandawire and on-loan James Tavernier in their starting XI, created the first chance through Joe Jacobson after 15 minutes.
The Dons managed to clear his sweeping cross behind for a corner, which was also cleared, with Town striker John Marsden suffering a knock in the process.
After a bland first half though Town came to life with Aaron Wildig coming closest for the hosts midway through the second.
His fierce shot, from Jacobson's cross, struck Dons keeper David Martin from close range and the rebound was scrambled away.
Paul Parry and John Marsden both went close too but Town had to settle for a solitary point in the end.
