Shrewsbury hail fans for season ticket sales
Shrewsbury Town chairman Roland Wycherley today hailed the backing of fans after 2,159 season tickets were snapped up as part of the club's Early Bird scheme.
Wycherley says the figure demonstrates strong support for boss Graham Turner and his side despite a season-long battle for survival in League One.

The early purchase option saw 2,325 sales around the same time last year as the club were bidding for promotion from League Two.
Wycherley admitted: "We were somewhat concerned at one point that the difficult battle to stay in League One might affect sales.
"But the supporters have once again shown their backing for Graham, the team and the club with excellent sales figures.
"We hope that even more supporters will take advantage of the next stage of Early Bird season ticket prices which enables fans to receive up to six free matches.
"I thank the supporters for their continued support."
Ticket office supervisor Sean Evans said Town's offer was among the best in the division.
He added: "It was great to see so many supporters renewing and it was also encouraging to see so many first time season ticket holders attracted by the offer."
"Season tickets for the 2013-14 campaign remain on sale at a new price which still represent significant savings which equates to half a dozen free matches over the season.
"Having seen what other clubs offer in terms of Early Bird season ticket offers, Shrewsbury Town continue to promote one of the best value for money offers in League One."
Under the pricing structure fans had until April 10 to purchase tickets at £345 (category A), £285 (category B).
These go up to £380 and £330 respectively before the next deadline of May 4.
Tickets can be purchased from the Greenhous Meadow box office from Monday to Friday between 9am to 5pm.
Meanwhile, Shrewsbury's Reserves lost 2-0 to Walsall yesterday.
