Ollie Westbury Shrewsbury debrief - The Price is Right

That Jack Price moment was massive.

Not only is it a brilliant story for a Shrewsbury-born midfielder making his second appearance to score the goal that earns Paul Hurst's side a valuable point, but the wider connotations were huge too.

Late goals always create drama - and when your team is the beneficiary it always creates a feel-good factor. Hurst agreed saying he felt the draw against Oxford was like a win.

The bigger picture was at play here. Town looked to be heading to a defeat. It would not have been disastrous because they would still have had a cushion on the teams around them.

The feeling would have been a flat one though, considering Cheltenham beat Fleetwood, Port Vale beat Town's next opponents Bristol Rovers, and Cambridge got a brilliant win at Barnsley.

Salop would still have been firmly in control of their own destiny had they lost, but the pressure would have cranked up with another massive game on the horizon.

Who knows how important the point gained against Oxford on Friday might be when it comes to the end of the season.

Hurst's men need five more to get to the magic 50-point mark - the tally widely regarded as enough to keep you in League One over the last few seasons.

So that goal from Price showed immense quality, immense skill and demonstrated why he has played at a much higher level than what he is playing at now.

He was not the only one though. Seconds after Price had drawn Town level Marko Marosi, yet again, made an incredible save to keep the score at 1-1.

It is not the first time the keeper has done that in recent times.

It was a game where Shrewsbury deserved a point. It was a nigh-on miracle that the scores were level at half-time. Both teams had some really good opportunities to open the scoring including Aiden O'Brien for Town who is still searching for his first goal in a Salop shirt.

Oxford started the brighter of the two teams, but Town grew into it as it wore on.

They would have been disappointed by the way they switched off for Billy Bodin's goal - allowing the talented Josh Murphy to ghost in behind them.

But once Town drew level, it required some heroic defending to keep it that way as they head into another massive game on Monday.

One more win, and they have a foot in League One for next season.
