Micky Mellon is named new Shrewsbury Town manager
Micky Mellon has expressed his desire to be part of something special after being appointed new manager of Shrewsbury Town.
The 42-year-old was confirmed as the Shrews new boss this afternoon on a one-year rolling deal.

Former boss Mike Jackson has been named his assistant, with Danny Coyne staying on as coach.
Mellon, who has been out of work since quitting as Barnsley assistant boss earlier this year, revealed he was convinced to take the job after meeting with chairman Roland Wycherley
"I was not in a hurry to jump into a job if I did not think I could make a difference and be a part of something special," he said.
"The chairman was so thorough when talking about what he wants to do with the club but I thought 'wow' this is something I want to be a part of working beside a guy like that.
"The club itself, with the ground and the facilities and the fanbase, it's just an exciting time for me."
Mellon is stepping back into work after leaving his role as assistant boss to David Flitcroft at Barnsley earlier this year.
He has previously managed at Fleetwood Town, masterminding their promotion to the Football Leaguehttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png and stabilising them in their first season.
He was sacked in December 2012 by the Cod Army in what was considered a harsh axing
Mellon will be tasked with rebuilding Shrews following their relegation from League One.
"I have been down today to meet the guys again, Michael (Jackson) and Danny (Coyne)," he said.
"I have a lot of respect for them and know them very well and I'm delighted they want to stay here with me and be a part of this journey."
