Liam Dooley: No plans to hire a director of football at Shrewsbury Town
There are "no plans" to hire a director of football at Shrewsbury Town, chief executive Liam Dooley has said.
Speaking at the latest supporters' parliament meeting on Thursday night, Dooley said the club is not looking to replace former director of football Micky Moore, who left Salop in August after two-and-a-half years in the role.
Town's CEO said he is satisfied with the club's current structure and transfer processes, with no plans to bring in a new director of football.
Dooley said: "With the current ownership structure, we believe that where we sit in League Two, we have put a different process in now with transfers.
"We got to January with a really strategic plan. We identified people early and brought them in.
"We think we have improved the squad. That was not just done with the head coach. Predominantly a lot of that work was done by Tom (Ware) supported by the transfer committee. We have regular structured meetings to identify targets and the best way of getting them.

"What I can bring from a non-football perspective is policy and process, and just making things as you would in a business operate in football.
"The football guys can give me the knowledge on that side and we work together. I think the players we have brought in, in January, have strengthened the squad, some immediately, some of them, as Gavin pointed out, are more for a future purpose.
"We think the work we did to bring them in has worked. Similarly with head coach, for the first time we did have a plan B in Gavin. We had identified him a long time back (in football terms) as that we would like him to be the next manager of the club.
"Right now, there are no plans to bring back a director of football. We are, as you know, up for sale, and should that go through, then that would be on the new owners to make that decision as to what they think is right for the future of the club."
