Kevin Berkoe hoping to be major threat from the wings for Shrewsbury Town
The Shrewsbury Town wing-back revealed a secret battle with summer signing Arkell Jude-Boyd.
Kevin Berkoe is hoping to become a major danger for Shrewsbury Town from the wide areas this season.
It has been a difficult start to the campaign for Salop, but the 25-year-old has been one of the bright spots, standing out on the left and offering a threat going forward.

After revealing he signed a new deal to remain at the Croud Meadow this summer, Berkoe is hoping to become a regular source of goals and assists from the wing.
“That’s something we work on,” he said. “Like, on the pitch, our patterns of play and stuff like that.
“Then when the ball’s on the opposite side, whether the other outside player can get to the back of the back stick.”
On the opposite flank, summer arrival Arkell Jude-Boyd has also made a solid start to life in Shropshire.
Berkoe said he and fellow ‘London boy’ Jude-Boyd have built a good relationship, while also competing with each other in training.
“A London boy, so it was easy to just latch onto him and just ease his way into the building,” Berkoe said.
“But he’s quite a bubbly character anyway, so he helps himself really.

“We kind of go at each other in training. He’s quick, he’s strong, powerful, he’s good with his feet.”
Town endured a miserable midweek trip to Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup, while Berkoe enjoyed a winning return to former club Salford City in the first round.
The winger joined Shrewsbury from Salford for an undisclosed fee on January transfer deadline day and will now be hoping to help Town get another victory over his former side and pick up their first League Two points of the campaign.
Berkoe admits he and Jude-Boyd have their own assist targets and friendly battles, but he was keeping those goals close to his chest.
“Yeah, we’ll keep that between us two,” he smiled.
