Jamie Tolley: We are seeing a different Shrewsbury Town now

Shrewsbury Town have showed a bucket load of character to fight their way back in recent games.

We’re seeing a totally different Shrewsbury Town side at the moment.

Over the past few seasons we have questioned their character, their desire, their commitment at times, but with this team right now you can't question any of that.

To have two away games on the spin, Crawley and Rotherham, to be behind and to come back and get results, it just shows the togetherness that the group have got.

When you've got togetherness in the dressing room it can get you ten points easy a season, so it's brilliant to see and they're a totally different bunch.

There will be many a games throughout a season where you turn up and things aren't quite coming off.

But if you've got your mate next to you that's going to back you up and help you out then it can be worth so much to any team.

Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Rotherham was a crazy one and Town were playing well despite the deficit and then did so well to come back.

On Kian McMahon-Brown’s controversial late red card - if that’s a red then there will be a sending off in every single game up and down the country.

Kian gets totally wiped out and their lad's gone at him as the aggressor. All Kian’s done is just put his arms out to separate, give himself some space. And I don’t like to see what their lad Rafferty has done on the floor, as an experienced player.

If an appeal is unsuccessful being without Kian is a massive blow, just because of the form that he's in and the fact that he's brave on the football, willing to get on the ball in difficult situations and drive the team up the pitch.

Hopefully Michael Golding is someone who can come into those shoes and step up to the plate.

I was chuffed to see Josh Davison in the goals again after his double at Crawley last week. He works his absolute socks off, gives everything for the team.

To then add goals on the top of that is just a cherry on top of everything.

It was a really worrying situation with George Lloyd but thankfully the updates confirmed he was discharged from hospital.

The injury was not concussion-related, and if it’s just a situation where he has had stitches in the injury on the back of his head or neck then I’d imagine, fingers crossed, he could be good to go for the weekend - because he’s another in good form.

The three of them, McMahon-Brown, Lloyd and Davison seem to have a real understanding at the moment.

They're linking up. There's a number of times where three of them are involved in an attack.

So that tells me that they know where each other is going to be running and where they are moving.

Like all supporters I’m really looking forward to Gareth Ainsworth’s return to the Meadow with Gillingham on Saturday. It’s Sod’s law we might have McMahon-Brown suspended, as well as others, and injuries, for a game like that.

But hopefully the players raise their game with it being a little bit of the Ainsworth factor and we can put him and his team to the sword come Saturday.
