Dave Edwards: Shrewsbury showed plenty of key ingredient in comeback win
It was a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde performance from Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

At this point, all that really matters is the result and they got that in dramatic late fashion.
It was a bit of a nothing performance for the majority of that game – they would have been so disappointed with the start they made.
Matt Taylor came out and echoed that by admitting the first two goals were really poor from a defensive point of view.
A long clearance for the first one and a real mix-up defensively for the second one, to be 2-0 down after 15 minutes is disastrous, especially with the way the football club is at the moment and the way the team are playing.
I feel what they did show after that was a lot of resilience because there were a lot of things going against them, and they did ride their luck at times. There were times when Reading could have really gone and put the game to bed, and they will be disappointed with the way they conceded the first goal.
It was a really clever finish from Tom Bayliss, who had a decent game himself, and it was a good goal with the timing being really important too.
Going in at 2-1 gave them a lift, as going in at 2-0 would have made it really difficult.
Matt Taylor made changes and that really did improve Shrews even though they still were not at their stellar best. They were improved in the second half.
It would have been easy for the Town players to give up a little bit at the end, they weren’t really creating much, but they kept pushing, and one of the things I noticed was the togetherness and the team spirit.
It really carried Shrewsbury through at times last year under Steve Cotterill, they had a good group of players, and a lot of that group is still there and they looked like a team that is fully behind their manager.
You look at the way they celebrated the winning goal – the subs, the players, the staff, everyone was together, and that is a good sign.
They have scored three times in two of their last three games and a big positive of that is set-piece goals.
Elliott Bennett providing the quality. When you look at the difference between last season and this season, people would say last season was very positive and they have not felt it quite as much this campaign.
I do not feel there is a huge amount of difference with what is happening on the pitch, I just feel they were a lot more effective from those set-pieces last season.
That is something they needed to improve on because it is their first set-piece goal since the win over Burton, excluding the one they scored against Colchester in the FA Cup.
They had Luke Leahy’s delivery last year and that is what got them the points, if they can keep doing that then results will keep improving.
I am delighted for Jason Sraha, he was probably Shrews’ best player on the day, he is composed on the ball and very athletic.
Coming in with the injury record he had, at a point in his career where it was really on a bit of a knife edge, he has come into the team and done extremely well making that position his own.
That is huge credit to him when they have the likes of Joe Anderson on the bench who they brought in from Sunderland.
