Crewe 1 Shrewsbury Town 1 - match report
A second half goal by midfielder Jon Taylor earned Shrewsbury a well earned point at Crewe Alexandra.
The home side lost Adam Dugdale to injury after two minutes following a tackle by Luke Summerfield.
But they responded well and took the lead through Tom Hitchcock's header after 18 minutes.
Taylor almost drew Town level five minutes before the break but Ben Garratt denied his close range effort.
The Crewe shotstopper could do nothing about Taylor's equaliser 10 minutes into the second half though which followed a determined run into the box.
Tom Eaves missed two good chances to steal the points for Town in the final 30 minutes but Chuks Aneke also went close on three occasions for the hosts.
