While fellow trialist Luke Summerfield has seen his short stint at the Greenhous Meadow come to an end, Regan is on course to remain in training with Shrewsbury until at least the end of the week.
The 30-year-old began his career with Everton and has since had spells with Barnsley, Hull, Chester, Macclesfield, MK Dons and Bristol Rovers, from where he was released at the end of last season.
He played the final 25 minutes of Sunday's 2-1 win over a Manchester United XI.
"Luke will not be offered a contract and Carl will spend the rest of the week with us and may get some part of the game with Wolves on Friday," said Turner.
Although Jermaine Grandison and Reuben Hazell can both fill the role, Turner remains keen to recruit an out-and-out right back following the summer release of David Raven.
Meanwhile, striker Terry Gornell is on course to make his debut in Friday's home friendly with Wolves.
Gornell, who is the subject of on-going negotiations between Town and Accrington over a transfer fee, missed the Manchester United game with an ankle injury.
But he returned to training yesterday and Turner is excited at throwing another attacking option into the mix alongside Marvin Morgan, Tom Bradshaw and James Collins.
"It will be good to see Terry," added Turner.
"I think the front lads have done particularly well so far and this will give us another option.
"It's a long season and that is an area where you need good strength in depth."
Captain Ian Sharps continues to be niggled by a minor groin problem.
