Gavin Cowan confident Shrewsbury Town have enough to secure Football League status

Gavin Cowan has insisted there is "loads there" in Shrewsbury Town's squad to steer clear of relegation in League Two.

The new head coach is preparing for his first away day in charge at Colchester United after securing a point in his opening match at the helm. Town currently boast the division's worst away record, with just one league win on the road so far this season.

Upon his arrival, Cowan said he is confident Salop already possess the tools required to secure their Football League status.

"There's loads there," he said. "You've got players who have recently won promotions, you have really big characters, youth, legs - it just needs to be utilised in the right way.
