Shrewsbury Town boss looking to ensure perfect training schedule for match day tweak
Boss Michael Appleton will tweak Shrewsbury's training week to ensure his side are at maximum energy for Sunday's FA Cup trip so non-league South Shields.
Town are working to avoid a banana skin on the more unconventional match day with a 480-mile round trip to the north east for a midday kick-off.
With the televised tie 24 hours later than a typical League Two fixture, head coach Appleton admitted he will tailor Town's training with a possible lighter load later in the week to ensure his troops are ready.
"It will be slightly different in terms of our approach," Appleton told the Shropshire Star.
"We will have to make sure different people have two-day leads, three-day leads or sometimes even one-day leads into games, and we're going to try and make the week as normal as possible for them
